More Ways to Give
Lines for Life Champions of Hope Planned Giving Program
Dedicating a Planned Gift as a Champion of Hope is one of the most impactful ways you can support Lines for Life programs and services. When you make a provision for Lines for Life in your estate planning you can save on income, estate and/or capital gains taxes, provide for your family, and leave a legacy of your commitment to the prevention of substance abuse and suicide.
Many Lines for Life programs rely on the generosity of donors like you.
Planned Giving lets you achieve your financial and charitable goals and help Lines for Life fulfill our mission for years to come.
Please contact our Development Director, Jean McGowan, with any questions you may have or for technical assistance in making your gift.
Donor Advised Funds
One of the most popular instruments used for Planned Giving is a DAF or Donor Advised Fund. You can contribute to Lines for Life through your Donor Advised Fund! Click on the button below to search and donate through your DAF.
Your DAF gift immediately helps support us, gives you a tax deduction for your gift and shares Lines for Life’s important work with a broader audience.
Stock Gifts/Transfers
Donating publicly traded stocks, bonds or mutual funds is a simple way to support Lines for Life. Securities may be electronically transferred to the Lines for Life Vanguard account; they are sold, and the donor receives a tax deduction for the Fair Market Value of the donation.
For more information on gifting stock, please contact Chief Financial Officer Mireya McIlveen.
Real Estate Transfers
Lines for Life accepts gifts of unencumbered real property at fair (market value. These could include a personal residence, vacation home, commercial property and improvable property lots.
Estate Planning Gifts
One of the easiest ways to remember Lines for Life in your Planned Giving is to make us a beneficiary in your will, retirement plan or life insurance policy.
Qualified Charitable Distributions
Donors who are more than 70 ½ years old and must take taxable IRA distributions are allowed to donate up to $105,000 (in total) to one or more non-profits directly from the IRA instead of the distribution thus avoiding taxes on a mandatory distribution.
Social Fundraising
Facebook Fundraisers
Many people choose to set up Facebook fundraisers to support Lines for Life on special occasions or during our annual campaign. This is an easy way to reach many people and a great way to raise both money and awareness. Please note: Because of how Facebook giving is programmed, we are unable to give tax receipts or send thank you letters to supporters who donate through the Facebook giving site.
